Breaker of the Month | Bboy Dexy

The Tranquil Productions Breaker of the Month title is here again and we are excited to announce that the sixth Bboy/Bgirl to receive this award is none other than Bboy Dexy. Bboy Dexy is a member of Clean North Crew and the leader of Concrete Roses Crew, one of the Tranquil Productions Family Crews. He is determined and an inspiration for all the Breakers in Bradford, always pushes himself to the fullest.

Bboy Dexy’s style is described as being strong, characteristic and musical. His creativity and style are two of his best qualities in his dancing. Whenever or wherever there is a battle, Dexy is always down and ready to go. Dexy has a rounded style and is always hitting beats no matter what element of breakin he is performing.

One of the amazing things about Dexy is that he never gives up and works hard in every training session. His level has skyrocketed over the past few months and he has gained more confidence in not only himself but his dancing and always pulls out the coolest unexpected combos in the cyphers. You can tell that he lets his dancing do all the talking when he battles or cyphers.

This year his breaking has improved and he has been attending more battles all over England and abroad. Some of these places include: Wrexham (Avant Cymru), Bordeaux (TRocke battle and Gem and Juenes battle), Derby (Break Warriors) and Blackpool (Rock the Coast). He has also battled in the Bradford community at: Tech Styles 9, The End of Year Christmas Jam and The Easter Jam. In these battles Dexy made it to the final of the Bonnie and Clyde at Tech Styles 9 with Bgirl Ammo, made it to the Final of the 16 and under at Rock the Coast Jam and won the Seven to Smoke at The End of Year Christmas Jam.

One of the reasons Bboy Dexy has achieved BOTM is that he has a really strong a Hip Hop mentality, which exceeds the standard for his age. He listens, watches and embodies HipHop, along with listening to a variety of HipHop and Breakin beats. Dexy also took part in the Turn Styles DJ course ran by Tech Styles International, which has really shown to benefit his style and musicality. Dexy is slowly but surely becoming a true HipHop head, taking an interest and practicing all the elements, which is making him the bboy that he is.
