Breaker of the Month | Bboy Willmatic

The Tranquil Productions Breaker of the Month is here again and we are happy to announce the fifth person to receive this award. It is none other than Bboy Willmatic. Bboy Willmatic is a member of West Side Breakers Crew, he is hardworking, determined and an inspiration for all the Bboys and Bgirls in Bradford.

Bboy Willmatic’s style is described as being strong, attacking and intricate. Strength, speed and precision combined is what creates Will’s style whilst battling. He is a well rounded breaker who is always willing to be pushed to the max and never complains.

One of the great things about Will is that he works hard at every training session. He is always motivated and whenever he has any spare time, he is often training by himself or with others. Will trains at least 4 times a week as well as going to an open gymnastics session to train his flips and tricks. He is always trying to create new movements and improve the skills he already has. Willmatic is an inspiration to everyone who knows him.

This year his breakin has seen a huge improvement in such a short space of time. Will used to be in Solid Rock Crew back in 2015 being taught by Bboy Tranquil at St Johns Church at a weekly class. He took some time out a few years later due to other life commitments, however a true Bboy will always be drawn back and that is exactly what happened to Willmatic. Will started breakin again in the Bradford scene in 2024 and hasn’t stopped since. He is one of the most hardworking and motivated Bboys, making the most out of his training time, cyphers and any battles he enters. When he is battling, he never holds back and always performs to the best of his ability. He previously battled hard at Tranquil Productions ‘End of Year, Christmas Jam’ and won first place in the Octagon battle, which is a concept battle created by Alien Ness, a legendary Bboy. There is a small circle of cones and you have to dance in the middle, using creative ways to move and show your skills, without touching any of the cones. Will has a natural way with this concept battle and is great to watch. Will also recently battled at Tranquil Productions ‘The Easter Jam’ in an exhibition battle where his side took the win against some of the best Bgirls in the city. One of the reasons Bboy Willmatic has achieved this award is due to the fact that he is always willing to lend a helping hand and is reliable. Throughout 2024 Will would often give lifts to people to get home from training at Bradford gym on Tuesdays, he has also on occasions helped members of Clean North travel to events. One of these times was once when he gave Bgirl Ammo, Bgirl Labyrinth and Bgirl fox a lift to Leeds Bradford airport so that they could get to Ireland for an invited event with Top 8 Street Dance. Another time was when he took 4 members of Clean North all the way to Edinburgh and back for the Break the Castle 7 to smoke event. During Tech Styles 9, Bboy Willmatic helped with the setup and pack down, including flyering, moving linos transportation of equipment between venues. He is a really great Bboy to have in the Bradford scene and we really appreciate his help and dedication.
