Where do I start! The Secret Garden Party was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I had such a great time with Bgirl Fox, the Blood Masterz and the team. It’s a once in a lifetime experience and I’m so happy that I could be part of the festival this year. The best way for me to describe the Secret Garden Party is that it’s like taking a trip to another planet or stepping into a dream world.
Everything about the festival is creative and there is so much light everywhere. There are hidden bars and clubs all around the Garden, I say garden but the site where the festival takes place is about the size of a small town centre. There are small lakes, woods and streams within the garden and every part is used for something creative, from art to music. The food is off the hook, there are street food vendors all over the place and most vendors have perfected the food they have on offer. I love my food so this was great for me.
Fox and I were there to help with the breakdance performances and to compete in the dance off final. We battled hard and got the crowd hyped but unfortunately we didn’t take the win. However it didn’t matter because it was definitely the swing dancer’s day, they danced hard and won the crowd over, it was great to see them win. During the Dance Off we bumped into a previous Clean North member Alex a.k.a Bboy Shredder, who it was great to see.
This was the first time me and Fox had camped together and it was great. Those who know us, know we don’t do things by halves and this was no exception. We went all out on the tent and camping gear, Coleman all the way. Thank God too as when we arrived we had to put up the tent in the dark, this is not something I recommend. It would have been a nightmare experience without an easy setup tent ha-ha.
I saw a trailer of the Blood Masterz doing a breakdance performance at the Secret Garden Party a few years ago and ever since then I had wanted to go. I felt very blessed to be invited by them this year, The Secret Garden Party was an amazing experience for me and Fox. The whole team were very friendly and made us both welcome, I think thats what made our time at the Secret Garden Party so great.
