We are very excited to have the return of Bradford Brawl on the 19th of November 2022. As we are quickly approaching the breakin event date, we wanted to share some of the history behind the Bradford Brawl event with all the bboys, bgirls, hip hop heads and those who follow Tranquil Productions Facebook Instagram Youtube. This will be the 5th edition of the Bradford Brawl and this event marks the return, since our last event in 2019. This event is specifically created for the bboys and bgirls of Bradford and the surrounding areas in Yorkshire. Everyone is welcome to come and join in the amazing day full of dancing and we especially welcome those who enjoy watching this amazing artform. The battles are exclusively for those who attend Tranquil Productions classes but there will be open cyphers for anyone who wants to get down on the day. The purpose of these internal battles is to help the local grassroots community and the scene to progress, it gives new dancers a platform to showcase their skills more comfortably but still offers high level breaking and inspiration from the more experienced members of within the community. Together, this enhances the overall breakin experience and also gets the dancers ready for larger events in Bradford and across the nation.

There will be a special workshop with the one and only Bboy Marius on the day of the event, not to be missed. Bboy Marius is a leading dancer within Europe, he has such a creative style and tons of skills and knowledge. Marius has judged many events in Bradford and across the UK. On the 19th he will share some of his techniques and insights into the dance. For those wanting to progress this workshop is a must. The special workshop is 1 hour before the event 11:00-12:00 for (£5), which is open for all to attend, then the main event starts at 13:00 (£5 entry). Please do come and support, check out our Facebook event page.

There will be crew showcases, crew battles, 2v2 battles and one of the highlights of the event will be the Breaker of the Year battle. The Breaker of the Year battle brings the top 8 dancers from within the Tranquil Productions Family to battle it out. Throughout the year these 8 dancers have been awarded Breaker of the Month, a title given to recognise their hard work, progress, commitment and positive mentality showing true hip hop mindset. There are 4 crews attending this event: Bradford City Breakers, Clean North, Westside Breakers & Concrete Roses. We would like to give a massive thank you to Tech Styles International, Bradford Council and Kala Sangam for their support of Bradford Brawl. There is a definite buzz across all the dancers, bboys & bgirls and it’s great to see our scene recovering from the difficult times we have faced.

For the Bradford Brawl we will have 3 judges, first up is the one and only Bgirl Fox. Her level-headed approach and experience will make sure the dancers give their best in the battles. She will be joined by the second judge, Bboy Stylez, another hometown legend with the most incredible style of dance, which is super smooth and refined.  Both of these dancers are in their late 30’s but look better than ever, which is down to their hard training and passion for the dance. The last judge is a super talented bboy from the new generation, he has been all over the world battling and performing from the young age of 3 years old. Both his parents are prominent dancers within the hip hop and breakin scene and you can see their knowledge has been passed down to this highly skilled young dancer.  This bboy also won the most recent Tech Styles event at the BD:Festival in the 2v2 16 & under category, give it up for… Bboy El Uno!

Below you will find a newly released trailer from the last Bradford Brawl event back in 2019. This was filmed by Luke Hogan and really captures the essence of the event. A massive thank you to Luke for the support. We also want to thank everyone who has supported us on our journey so far. Thank God the scene is thriving, we hope and pray the future of Bradford continues to rise and there will be many great moments to come. We will be working hard to make sure Bradford Brawl will certainly be another memorable event.

For Breakin as a whole, it is an exciting time, there is the recent news of Tech Styles International becoming an Arts Council England NPO, Bradford becoming the City of Culture 2025 and the Paris Olympics 2024. All these are amazing achievements that will elevate breakin to another level and see the hopes and dreams of Tranquil Productions fulfilled.
