Well it’s almost the end of the year and it’s been an amazing year in terms of the classes and all the students involved across the Yorkshire area. There is still one last thing to announce before we jump into the New Year and that’s the ‘Breaker of the Month’ for December which is none other than Bboy 1k (Kye Mcpherson) representing Dirty South, Bradford.
What can we say about 1k, it’s hard to know where to start because over the past three months there have been so many great things to say about him as a dancer and a person. Leading his crew Dirty South in hard times and stepping up as a bboy when needed are a few of the things that have earned him this award. Not only that, his dancing has really improved especially within the last two months.
1k is 16 years old and he has been pushing his dancing into new areas, creating combinations and movements which are unexplored and unique to those surrounding him. He’s building upon the things he has been taught and taking things to the next level. We are excited to see this kind of bboy emerging as this is exactly what Bradford needs, in order to sustain a high level and push the Bradford breakin / breakdance level further forward.
Over the past year bboy 1k has been very consistent in his breakin and in his general attitude as a bboy. We feel consistency is very important in order to achieve this title and is a trait that you will find across all the bboys & bgirls who have been selected for ‘Breaker of the Month’ so far. Congratulations Bboy 1K.
