Breaker of the Month | Bgirl Devina

It is time to announce our next Tranquil Productions Breaker of the Month. The third Bboy/Bgirl to receive this award is none other than, Bgirl Devina.

Bgirl Devina is a valued member of Concrete Roses Crew. A few words her crew gave to describe her were entertaining, encouraging, supportive and kind. Her style is described as groovy and creative, with some of her strengths being her musicality and ability to use other styles within her breakin. She is an inspiration for all the Breakers in Bradford and always pushes herself to the fullest.

One of the reasons Devina received the BOTM award is her commitment to classes. Devina began dancing at just 4 years old and learnt various different dance styles including: Street, Bollywood, Hip Hop and Contemporary. However she only started learning breakin 7 months ago! Within these 7 months she has continuously attended the Concrete Roses sessions, where she has learnt all of her crew routines, new moves and she is becoming more of a leader. As well as this she is always trying new experiences and taking part in upcoming opportunities. She has attended workshops with national & international artists such as Bboy Ryoji, Bgirl Galleta, Bboy Dr.Hill and many more as well as starting the Survival Breaks session on Mondays 7-8pm.

Achieving Breaker of the Month has made me feel like I am growing as a dancer and I am grateful for the support of the Tranquil Productions Family and Tech Styles Community. I am extremely thankful for all of the opportunities I have had so far and I can’t wait to see where breakin takes me!

Bgirl Devina, Concrete Roses

Another amazing thing about Devina is her relentless determination and hard work. As a result of this, her level has improved and given her more confidence in herself and her dancing. If she ever finds a move hard, she will always ask one of her fellow dancers for help. Whenever she is at a session, she is always taking on board everything that is being taught. This Bgirl won’t back down if something is difficult, she will persevere until she achieves.

The final reason this Bgirl achieved this award is that she always puts in 110% whether she’s battling, cyphering or just training on her own. She always pushes herself and her crew and you can tell she has that spark and passion for breakin. She has attended multiple events over recent months. They include Tech Styles 10, The End of Year Christmas Jam, The Easter Jam and Break Warriors Championship. At the Easter Jam she showed all of Tranquil Productions Family how much she has improved by winning the 1v1 Octagon Prop Battle. In Derby, at ‘Break Warriors Championship’ ran by Trinity Warriors, Devina represented in the 3v3 crew battle alongside Bgirl Casey and Bboy Milo.
